What drinks can we have?
The choice of drinks is totally yours. You can choose particular beers, spirits and wines that you like. We are happy to work with you to help make your decisions or you can leave the choice up to us.
We are able to serve four drinks from the taps, this can range from trusted pub beers, to craft beers, ciders and spirits - you get to choose.
What happens then?
We work with our suppliers to get the best price for you. We organise the order, organise delivery and make sure everything is ready for your event.
How much will be ordered?
This will depend on your guest numbers. We carefully work this out to ensure that there is no risk of running out. We talk to you to work out what best suits you and your guests, their needs and other details.
We provide all glassware. Staff will collect glassware throughout the event, but we will have to charge for any that is broken or lost. We have glass washing facilities on site, so there will be plenty throughout the night.
Alternatively we can help organise your own glasses embossed for your special occassion. (Glasses will be at your expense)
Can you organise your own alcohol?
You are able to dry hire the Back Paddock Bar, we will still provide glassware, ice and bar attendants.
What are the costs?
We charge a travel ($2 per km) and set up fee, this will be dependant on the distance from us to your location and then charge an hourly hire fee ($100 per hour) which covers the bar attendants and equipment. We also ask for a small bond to cover any damages to our equipment and glasses. This will be returned on the night.
The drinks packages are charged per person. These packages depend on what drinks you like to be served, the duration of the event etc. Please contact us for a quote.
How does it work?
We will arrive well in advance, being an old truck she is a little slow off the mark! Will we have your drinks chilled, all the glasses, eskies and ice that you will need. The hire of the truck also includes some wine barrels to use as tables, portable bar and other decor items. We are happy to work with you if there are additonal things that you need.
Does the bar need power and water?
We do have the ability to bring and use our own power and water, but the availability of power and water does make our job a little easier.
How long does it take to setup and pack down?
We take approximately 2 hours to set up and an hour to pack down. We don't charge for this time.
What areas do we travel to?
The Back Paddock Bar is based in Gippsland. But we will travel to Melbourne for events. Please contact us if you would like us to travel further, we love a good roadie!
Where can we operate?
Under our licence we are permitted to serve on private land, local parks (with council permission, a hawkers licence and only to your guests - you will need to seek your councils permission). Any licenced venues we are permitted to serve at but with a temporary licence.
How long can we serve alcohol for?
As long as you like, as long as it fits our licence requirements. These are listed below.
Our licence permits us to operate: Monday to Saturday between 10am and 1am the following morning. Sunday between 10am and 11pm Good Friday and Anzac Day 12 noon and 11pm
When do I need to pay?
Once you have booked and paid your 30% deposit - the date is yours and we won’t take any further bookings. The 30% deposit is non-refundable. The remaining is due two months before your event.
